- Artists as Instructors -

Two-day workshop design, development and delivery targeted to community organizations hiring and training artists to deliver art workshops to communities. Past clients include the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre, City of Regina, and SYANA (Society of Yokon Artists of Native Ancestry), Whitehorse, Yukon.

Participants are introduced to the Learning Cycle, are given a template for a learner centered learning design, and learn how to design their own workshops that are highly sensitive and respectful of their participants. With this model and template, artists learn to create their own workshops that include:

• Lesson plans that can adapt to a diverse group of participants in the classroom.
• Learning activities, assessment tools and teaching methods
• A learning design that guides learners through the stages of introduction, acitivty and summary; creating links between activities and between the big picture and specific application.
